Terms and conditions

These terms apply to the Christmas Countdown app for Android (“the app”), made by SpecialDevOps (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. The app

The app is free. It has no account, no in-app purchases and no ads. It counts down to Christmas and includes an advent calendar, home screen widgets and optional reminders.

2. Your licence

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for non-commercial purposes on Android devices you own or control. Your use of Google Play is also covered by Google Play's own terms.

3. What you may not do

You may not copy, modify, sell or redistribute the app or its parts. You may not reverse engineer it, except where the law allows this, or use the app in a way that's unlawful or that harms the app or other people.

4. Intellectual property

The app, including its tree character, artwork, designs and texts, belongs to us and is protected by copyright and other laws. The Outfit and Fraunces fonts are used under the SIL Open Font License. The open-source libraries the app uses are covered by their own licences.

5. Dates, widgets and notifications

The countdown follows your phone's date, time and time zone. We do our best to keep the widgets and reminders on time, but your phone's battery-saving settings can delay or block them, so we can't promise they'll always appear exactly on time.

6. Updates and availability

We may update, change or stop offering the app, or parts of it, at any time. Some updates may be required to keep using the app; when that happens, the app asks you to update.

7. Third-party services

The app relies on services from other companies, such as Google Play and Firebase, and their terms also apply. The privacy policy explains what information these services handle.

8. No warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, as far as the law allows. We don't promise that it will be free of errors or always available.

9. Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or takes away your rights as a consumer.

10. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If you keep using the app after a change, the new terms apply.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Romania. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
